Answer Question
High voltage measured between two open ends in a very short transmission line
Hi there! I hope you all are good.
I'm currently working on the energization of a very short 500 kV transmission line (0.52 km), but I'm having the following trouble:
When the line is open in the both ends, before the swithching, I'm getting a high voltage measurement between the both ends (about 200 kV), when it would be supposed to be near to zero (region in red). I used this small system just for simplicity.

I've tried modelling the line as a Bergeron and Frequency dependent as well, and as I change the line length, this problem seems to dissapear, at the point that when the line reach about 20 km of length, the voltage before the swithing present a normal behaviour (near to zero).

I'd really appreciate any help with how to handle this matter.
