Answer Question
Form of saturation function for AC1A exciter
I'm using the AC1A exciter model, and I'm unable to find sufficient information about how the saturation is implemented. In the parameter section you can provide two different exciter voltages (VE1,VE2) and also the saturation values at those respective voltages (Se(VE1), Se(VE2)). There is no information, however, about the assumptions about the form of the saturation relationship.
My end goal is to compare results in PSCAD and PSSE. In PSSE, there is a requirement that VE1<VE2, yet this requirement is violated for the default parameters in PSSE. I'm trying to figure out if there is a difference between these two platforms in how they interpret the saturation values for this model. Any insight into how these values are interpreted in PSCAD would be very useful.
Thanks,
Matt
