Surge arrester
Good day sir. I have another question if you don't mind, and thanks in advance.
In our project we have modeled a 138kV transmission line with 10 towers(300m in between), then a surge arrester at the substation entrance, and lastly, a step down transformer with resistive load connected by the end of the transmission line. A 10kA surge is injected at tower 5.
I and my mate can't quite understand how to choose the best model for surge arrester(also, we modeled 3 SA; IEEE, Fernandez-Diaz, & Pinceti).
Is it by choosing the highest energy absorbtion among the three models? Or highest output current and voltage?
