Answer Question
Sampling frequency and considered signal length of FFT in PSCAD
I try to understand how FFT in PSCAD is working exacly. Especially, I am not sure which sampling frequency and which signal length PSCAD is considering during the calculation of the FFT.
Is the sampling frequency given by the Solution Time Step (TST) in the Project Settings of PSCAD so that 1/T_STS=f_sampling?
Regarding the considered signal length. Does PSCAD only consider the period of time corresponding to the Channel Plot step adjusted in Project Settings? The FFT delivers the magnitudes, phases and dc components of the harmonics over the simulation time but the FFT delivers in gerneral the magnitueds and phases over the freuquency. Therefore, I am interested in finding out which time period PSCAD is using because the input signal changes over time.
Thank you for your answers in advance!
Kind regards,
Niklas
