How does the multimeter calculate the reactive power of single phase circuit?

I have found the three phase reactive power calculation method in PSCAD help file, as follow:

But I am just wondering how does the multimeter calculate the reactive power of single phase circuit.

Hello

It does measure Vrms, Irms and Phase difference between V and I then use Vrms*Irms*Sin(angle)
