LiveWire has the built in functionality to monitor and synchronize with EMTDC output data directly.
As soon as you import the data into LiveWire, a relationship between the data and LiveWire is established. As EMTDC writes to the output file, LiveWire can update in real time.
By pressing the <reload> button, LiveWire will reload the data “currently” written to the PSCAD output file. This holds true for all data loaded into LiveWire.
There is no need to rebuild any LiveWire workspaces.
Here is a sample situation to clarify.
Run PSCAD with a case. Load the output EMTDC data of that run into LiveWire and put the data in to several graphs.
Run the PSCAD case again and change some parameters in your case.
LiveWire will now inform you that the loaded data has changed. “Would you like to reload”.
By pressing yes, the new EMTDC data will be loaded and redisplayed in all the graphs in LiveWire.
