Is your objective is just to produce the real and imaginary part from the phasor form ?
In this case you can always use logical expressions to extract Acos(ang) for real part and Asin(ang) for Imaginary part.

I am trying to make this, but it does not work. I tried setting up j to be the square root of -1.
