I did not see an answer to this question so I'll try to help.
There is no field called X2 per my knowledge.
X2 can be approximated as 0.5*(Xd” + Xq”).
a) Turbine Generator with 2 or 4 poles & salient pole generators w/o damper X2 ~ X”d.
b) Salient pole generator with damper 1.1X”d<X2<1.5X”d
Check also the Westinghouse T & D book, it has detailed discussion on X2
