Set X/R ratio in synchronous generator
I have attached Synchronous generator parameters from datasheet into pscad model. Can anyone help me to calculate/define value of X/R ratio of the machine from these parameters? Thank you.

X/R = Xd''/Ra
Also verify by this method in IEEE Std.
assume X = x"d
assume R = X2v/(2*pi*f*Ta)
where
x"d is gen. subtrans. react.
X2v is gen. saturated neg. seq. react.
Ta is armature time const.
f is frequency

Hello,
Please note that here for generator X/R ratio varies with respect to time ,say from Xd'' to Xd' to X. Thus based on the study / time range of your ananlysis, you can choose Subtransient / Transient / Synchronous Reactance and divide it with the Resistance (since both are in same units) to get more realistic values for X/R ratio.
Hope it helps :)
