How to start a synchromous motor in steady state condition?
Hello. I am new to PSCAD. I read about synchronous machines in PSCAD cookbook. But it was all about synchronous generators, if i understood correctly. I created a synchchronous machine, set the parameter Tm to <0, so i could get a motor, unlocked the rotor and set it as a machine (not a pure source) in the beginning. But i want it to be started in steady state. Please could you help me?

Mostly we solve the system in loadflow software before we run it in PSCAD. Another way that does not need a loadflow software is to run the system after unlocking the rotor then go back to the machine to update the parameters to get the steady state conditions. You can always use a snapshot and use it as a start.
