Hi. My name is Celso and a doctoral student in electrical engineering at the federal university of Ceará, Brazil. I am using PSCAD v.4.2.0 to simulate a DFIG based wind system (whose parameters are attached) and I encountered the following problem.
I'm using a vector control system in phase with the stator flux vector. Thus, when synchronizing the generator (with open stator) to the electrical grid, I verified that the quadrature axis rotor current had a non-zero value, which was not to happen. The correct result (quadrature axis rotor current equal to zero) could only be verified when the stator/rotor turns ratio was equal to one.
I have already checked my control system, which appears to be working properly, and I am suspicious that the model of the winding rotor induction machine present in the software shows some phase displacement between the rotor currents and the stator voltages for a stator/rotor turns ratio other than one. Does this really occur? I also suspect that there is some possible variation of the machine parameters, so I would like to know if the calculation of the respective values in pu is influenced by the stator/rotor turns ratio.
If these suspicions are not confirmed, is there any way to resolve this problem?
Thank you very much in advance.
