Hello,
The default units in PSCAD are kV, kA, MW, etc. The pgb component (the one that makes the plots) does not change this - i.e. it passes the units through to the plot without changing it. However, there is a setting under channel settings that allows the user to change the scaling (Scale Factor). With this a user can manually change the prefix of the unit to anything else they wish. For example, if the incoming signal is in kV, and the scaling is 1000, then the units displayed on the plot is in V. Further, when using the 'Units' section in the channel settings, this only displays the units and not changes them.
Also, when using components like the Multimeter, the user can change the output scaling and thus the prefix for the units.
I hope this helped clarify the units.
Regards,
Mathias
