The 2048 Output channel limit is put there as a realistic boundary for a simulation. When you have that many channels, the communication overhead between the simulation and PSCAD GUI becomes very high and will slow down your runs significantly.
Prom a practical standpoint, it is recommended to stay well below this limit.
