Hello,
your instalation contains Examples folder. Go to the direction .......\PS cad\Examples\DieselEngine. This study contains nice example with diesel engine with induction generator. You can easy change induction generator to synchronous machine with exciter. Diesel engine (IC engine block) uses speed governor (Woodward gov. with Lead-Lag regulator), which is important for islanded grid. In islanded grid, you can set speed reference for diesel to 1 (for nominal frekquency) and set exciter reference voltage to nominal value 1 etc. In islanded grid diesel generator will feed loads with required P and Q and regulate frequency and voltage at nominal values. If you connect this model with this setting to the power grid, real power of generator will be 0. When you change speed refference from nominal (1), real power will increase.
Good luck,
Josef H.

Synchronous Generator, that is, an alternator (AC generator) with the same rotor speed as the rotating magnetic field of the stator. According to the structure, it can be divided into two types: rotating armature and rotating magnetic field.
Synchronous generator is one of the most commonly used alternators. In the modern power industry, it is widely used in hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power generation and diesel power generation.
The external characteristics of the synchronous generator generally refer to the curve of the voltage change of the generator terminal when the load current changes under the condition of the constant internal potential. The test is mainly to test the vertical axis synchronous reactance of the generator, that is, the internal impedance of the generator. It is an important indicator of the synchronous generator with load capacity.
