Keep in mind that the active power of the synchronous generator is controlled by changing the torque value, and the reactive power of the synchronous generator is controlled by changing the excitation voltage. Therefore, the relation between the active power and the torque is linear, so this means that once the torque increases the active power will increases and vice versa. However, controlling the reactive power is depends on the proportional value excitation voltage.
