I have to design a new relay in PSCAD which is implemented using an out of step detection algorithm which calculates the critical clearing time of the test system during a fault and generates a trip/restrain signal to the breaker.

I am unable to proceed with the implementation of the new algorithm since it invloves a number of mathematical calculations based on the measured values of signals during the simulation run.I am not sure how mathematical calculations can be programmed/modelled in PSCAD.

Please let me know if control blocks can perform any desired mathematical calculations or a new custom component needs to be modelled to perform the mathematical processing.

Any help regarding this issue is much appreciated.
