The internal combustion machine model implemented in PSCAD is quite simplified. The angle of the machine is computed based on the 'w' speed input. With the angle information, the torque for each cylinder is calculated using the look-up table entered by the user. Interpolation is used for points not specified in the table. The torque for each cylinder is added (misfiring considered) then multiplied with appropriate quantities to convert it to machine base.
I have attached a paper used as a reference when the model was created
