Answer Question
Skin effect on Cable Impedance
Hello,
Does PSCAD include skin and proximity effect for calculating the AC resistance of conductors by default in the underground cable model? What factors of ks and kp are used by default in the calculation? It does appear some kind of skin and proximity effect is considered in the calculation as the resultant AC resistance in the sequence impedance output is notably higher than a calculated DC resistance.
Thanks
